Isopod Lab

The body plan that lives between two others. An isopod takes the segmented armoured body from the axial plan and grows one leg pair per segment from the polypod — walked by the same metachronal wave. It's the proof that axial and polypod aren't separate: they're a segmented spine, ± a leg per segment.

Built from both plans

The legs + gait are the polypod's, drawn from the shared sprite/wave.js metachronal primitive; the segmented armour is the axial plan's plates/seams as a top-down oval. Pure seed-deterministic generator (buildIsopodGenome / isopodFrame) + animator (IsopodCritter), node-tested. Portable still: GET /sprite/api/isopod.svg?seed=&family=&segments=&….
