sprite · radial body plan

Radial Lab

Psychic echinoderm megafauna, in pixels — after clock/basket. A second body plan beside the humanoid kernel: where that one is bilateral (mirror, two legs, eight headings), this is radial — N-fold symmetry, recursively branching arms, and a Kuramoto-coupled phase wave for the writhe. No heading, no gait — a starfish reads from any angle, so you animate the undulation.

What the knobs do

depth takes you from a 5-arm brittle star (depth 0, simple stalks) to a basket star (deep bifurcation). coupling K is the psychic dial: at 0 the arms writhe independently (chaos); turned up, the Kuramoto oscillators synchronize into one traveling pulse (watch sync climb). The pulse hue rides accent; glow is the bloom.

Same kernel discipline as the rest

Pure, seed-deterministic generator (buildRadialGenome / radialFrame) + a fixed-timestep animator (RadialCritter, reproducible from seed + #steps), node-tested. Portable still: GET /sprite/api/radial.svg?seed=&arms=&depth=&….
